Author Barbara Cooper

She resides in Springfield, Massachusetts, and is employed as a high school Special Education Teacher in the Springfield School system.

She writes from a place of nakedness/unashamed; the topics throughout the pages of “Spoken Realities” are non-verbal scenarios many have archived and are waiting to be eradicated from one’s soul.

Exposed…. “She is talking about Me” How did she know when I told No-one? What you have been through/are going through is not exclusive. It is called “life realities” with your name attached to it. You have the power to change your personal “Narrative” by acknowledging your truth with a head-on collision with “You.”

Yes, she is a stranger to many who are outside of her inner circle, yet, she is known by countless others whom she has personally written for over the years. She does not need to advertise her accolades when God’s gift of writing speaks for itself.

Phase One
I want to exhale the love and appreciation of those extraordinary individuals who embraced the gift of God in my life. My children Quantisha, Thomas, and Devonte. My sisters Linda, Sheila, and Nancy, brother Paul, school colleagues, and special friends echoed repeatedly. YOU GOT TO PUBLISH YOUR BOOK. I have finally exhaled God’s Masterpiece, and without him, I could not have shared my gift of writing with YOU.

Phase Two
I would also like to give my editor Gina-DeSantis -Rodriguez, a Big Shout Out for all her patience during my constant rewrites. Throughout my rewrites, she would say, Ms. Cooper, when will you publish your book? NOW…

Phase Three
In August 2022, I met this magnetic young Lady Shahonna of Jus Honna Business Boutique at the “Harambee.” Which turned out to be God’s perfect timing. She had self-published her first book, and I needed her how/insightful information to publish my book, which was long overdue. She did not hesitate to assist my need for her. We have spent countless hours together revising what I previously wrote on some of the topics in question and constantly formatting due to my personal preferences. I guess every writer can identify with my mindset regarding the relevancy of what the final product should embellish. Our journey together throughout this tedious project has cemented a bond between Shahonna, my second daughter (smile), and I will abide long after the publication of this book.

In "Spoken Realties," Cooper clearly shows how she is a "Voice for those who have no voice." On topics ranging from sexuality to hair loss to incarceration, she pricks our consciousness and connects deeply with all readers. Everyday situations and emotions that we all face are simply and directly addressed, making us quickly realize that we are all part of humanity.

A Tip of Love is a collection of short love tips containing personal situations couples have found themselves in at one time or another. A Tip of Love could be its own book, renamed Love Tips, by Barbara Cooper. This chapter will have you on end. Before you finish this chapter, you will laugh, cry, smile, and yell out a few four letters words. Your emotions will be tested as you shake your head and say, "YOU GOT THAT RIGHT." A tip of Love is a must-read that will inspire and empower you to figure out your relationship regardless of the circumstances. Enjoy.

I loved every written word in "Window of My Soul!"! I found myself shaking my head. "Yes", as I read, I wanted more. These poems were so relatable. Ms. Cooper's writings are heartfelt and beautifully written; the world needs to hear these hidden gems.
